Solemnly decaying, unshackled and iridescent
her pleasing portrait stands in ruins, resting lovingly inflamed
by vividly glimmering, billowing mists
marching untameable, prideful and fierce
her concrete and tarmac lay greyed and infused
with ecstatic lethargy and ruthless abuse
through numberless downpours of acidic floods
a million of feet and gallons of blood
and the tragic flayed minds of the inhabitants
leaving deep reaching clefts in her once blooming heart
but in spite of the terrors and all of the mud
and remembering the vibrance of her warming arms
her merciful gloom, that’s keeping us numbed
and her fabulous smile, that’s soothing our hearts
